Our Company
We incorporated Dogs Without Borders in November of 2006 and were based in the Calgary area until September 2008. We had a vision to create a business that provided exceptional service to our customers by offering a home based, low stress environment for their pets. We wouldn't dream of putting our own dog in a kennel and wanted to create a loving atmosphere that we know other people would appreciate for their own furry family members while they were away.

Having had two wonderful and successful years with the business, we decided it was time to expand. The thought of having some land and a higher quality of life was very appealing to us, and that is why we chose the Kingston area! We will continue to serve our customers with the utmost respect and highest quality care for their pets, as we have strived for in previous years. We hope to see you soon!

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
Our name is inspired by the original without borders organization, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).  MSF won the Noble Peace Prize in 1999 in recognition of its members’ continuous effort to provide medical care to millions of people affected by disaster as well as MSF's efforts to raise international awareness of such humanitarian disasters.  Our commitment to humanitarian efforts is strong and a portion of our profits are donated to MSF each year.

In addition to owning the business, I have worked in the oil and gas industry for the past 10 years as a senior data analyst. Having many pets throughout my life, I have gained invaluable experience and have had the opportunity to volunteer with organizations such as the Kingston Humane Society, Animal Rescue Foundation, and 1atatime Rescue. I will always be surrounded by dogs. They are my peace.

I also enjoy travelling and doing humanitarian work when time lends itself to such activities!

I have spent most of the past 10 years living overseas in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia working in the field of international development.  Returning to Canada has afforded me the opportunity to change careers; from a focus on people to a focus on animals and the environment.

I have many years of experience owning and taking care of domestic pets, have worked in a traditional boarding kennel, and even have experience with various farm animals (should anyone have a goat they need looked after!).

This beautiful boy came to us in December of 2005 as a Hurricane Katrina rescue dog and has found a permanent home, and position with Dogs Without Borders.  He is a true gentleman who keeps us laughing with his antics around the house.  He also enjoys singing, recycling, and a good massage!
